Way back in October of 2007, I wrote on this blog a post titled Waiting for Mac OS X Leopard: Why no digital download option ?, in which I asked:
In today’s world of broadband and on-demand user behavior, why doesn’t apple offer a digital download option ?
Fast forward about 4 years and it’s a reality ! Sometimes it’s good to remind ourselves just how good things have gotten 😉
Next up: hoverboards?
first I need to blog about it, and then 4 years later it will happen 😉
I was super impressed with the install!
Next up, never needing the OS Install on media. We still need the media (or better yet a local backup external USB harddrive) in an emergency. We also need a way to do a boot from net, or clean install without media.

Probably going to happen with iCloud one day …
Here are also some #s showing that Lion is being adopted at the fastest rate ever for a Mac OS: http://gigaom.com/apple/mac-os-x-lion-installation-stats-bode-well-for-digital-distribution/

Makes sense at the low, low price.
>Makes sense at the low, low price.
Lion was the same price as the Leopard upgrade, $30 ….
True, thought Snow Leopard was positioned as just that an upgrade, and there was a sentiment in the community of “optional”.
I definitely agree that online deliver helps a long.
