This may never happen again, so making sure I have a screenshot and a blog post š
As of 12:48am on December 23rd, 2010 I have achieved the elusive Inbox Zero – for all my work and personal email. Might have something to do with the holidays / new year thing — but no bother — I’m still celebrating this achievement š
I thought that was impossible to achieve. I am so far from that, it’s not funny. I feel like I’m in a good situation, and I have “only” 2223 emails in my inbox.
Ouch. Do you have to respond to all 2223 ?
Here are my tips:
– During the day I’m constantly triaging email from my laptop and from my iPhone. Anything I can archive or delete happens immediately, and I star stuff that needs a reply.
– I do a solid 3-4 hours of email every night when less is coming in — from around 10pm to 1 or 2am. If I skip a night, I’m pretty much a mess the next day.
– And as a company we use IRC, P2s (http://p2theme.com), and a bit of Skype — but almost no email … so that helps.
Most mornings I wake up to 150+ emails and if I don’t triage quickly, things would get ugly š
Did you get that email I sent you? š
I haven’t had the courage to look yet š
